Over
the past fifteen years there has been a dramatic change in the field of
graphic design. With the shift from hands-on areas of specialization to
the generalized digital realm, the responsibilities of the designer have
greatly broadened. To be successful a designer must understand how editorial,
typographic and visual elements are combined to create messages; be versed
in production issues; remain current in societal trends; and be an effective
communicator. I chose to become part of the Communication of Multimedia
program to share my industry experience and challenge students to develop
creative approaches when solving visual problems. Contact
